This, the Code of Conduct of CropLife South Africa ("CROPLIFE"), sets out the Industry and Trade standards for research, development, manufacturing, production, marketing, handling, warehousing and distribution including importation and/or exportation of crop protection products and domestic garden and home products, as defined. The premise on which the Code has been based is adherence to international best practices and statutory standards ensuring product safety, environmental stewardship, and human health across South Africa.

Comprehensive technical terminology and statutory definitions under the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Remedial Substances Act (Act No. 36 of 1947), detailing formulations, active ingredients, residue limits, and packaging criteria.

Guidance on product claims, standard safety phrases, user-precaution statements, hazard classifications (GHS), and label iconography conforming to national and international harmonisation standards.

The framework governing mandatory member adherence, quality control guarantees, anti-counterfeiting cooperation, traceability verification, and responsible container management programs.

Protocols for strategic alignment and constructive engagement with agricultural bodies, grower associations, academic institutions, and national departments (DALRRD, DFFE, Department of Health).

Due process guidelines, complaint handling workflows, independent review mechanisms, and disciplinary sanctions for breaches of the Code, up to and including termination of membership.
